Algeos ‘Show and Tell’

This is a new event that will be held at the BAPO Conference 2011 to be held at the Harrogate International Centre. The event is sponsored by orthotictechnicians.com to help relaunch this important resource for Orthotic, Prosthetic and Podiatry Technicians.
Have you ever wanted to show your fellow Technicians a new manufacturing process or method of manufacturing a device, well now is your chance at this new Show and Tell. There will be a prize of £150 for the best presentation as decided by the judges.
There will also be the chance to see some of the new products that Algeos will be showing at the Conference exhibition.
Presentations should be no longer than 7mins and can be given as a powerpoint presentation, a poster, a manufactured product or just simply a talk.
At the end of the Show and Tell we will see the return of the Algeos Technician Social event with the chance of catching up with your colleagues over a small refreshment from our sponsors Algeos.

As it is only 8 weeks till the BAPO Conference in Harrogate we will be starting to highlight some of the speakers and events at Conference aimed at Technicians.
This year sees the largest Technical programme at a BAPO Conference so be sure not to miss out.
Nominations for Limbcare Tech of the year close on 31st Jan 2011

Remember to get your nominations in for the Limbcare Technician of the Year award for 2011 as the nominations must be in by 31st January 2011 to be considered by the judging panel to win the £500 prize. details of the award as as follows.
Do you know a Technician who goes that extra mile? Someone who makes sure their patients device is suitable for their activities or has a great understanding of what their patient needs. Maybe it’s a Technician who has overcome barriers to allow them to carry out their duties, or Technicians who consistently produce excellent and innovative devices?
Well now is your chance to give them something back by nominating them for the Limbcare Technician of the Year Award.
The prize is £500 and the Technician can be nominated by anyone, be it their manager, a clinician, a fellow Technician, or a patient or user.
To nominate a Technician of the Year simply tell us in under 300 words why they should win this award. Send your entry together with a completed Nomination Detail Form to the BAPO Secretariat at the address below. The winner will be presented with their award by Limbcare Chairman Ray Edwards at the BAPO Conference in Harrogate on Saturday 5
March 2011.

Member (Full Member/Associates/Assistants/Students) : Login using membership number and Online CPD password and follow the on screen instructions. If you do not know your Online CPD password please use the password request link on the left and this will be emailed to you. Please note this is not the email address and password used to log onto the BAPO forum.

Algeos to put full support behind BAPO 2011 Technical Program

Algeos are pleased to announce they will be ‘fully’ supporting the 2011 Technical Program at the BAPO conference. Full details will follow, but plans are in being put into place to provide at least 3 speakers at the 2011 event, as well other initiatives such as sponsorship of the NEW ‘Show and Tell’ event and a re-launch of the technicians ‘Get Together’ event.
We are hoping the change of location and the increased energy being put into next year’s show by the BAPO team, that the 2011 conference will the one of the most successful events of recent years. We will be working closely with Ian Adam and Phil Buttery to ensure that technicians and other attendees have the best technical program ever at the UK’s most important O&P event.
We hope that all participating organisations, contributors, exhibitors and attendees will join us in in this supporting the 2011 event, to make it the best ever, which can only benefit us all as stakeholders in this most notable and worthy industry.
